- Apr: SC contributes to fund to assist Midhurst & Easebourne FC following major theft at The Rotherfield.
- Apr: SC takes four coaches to Wembley for FA Cup semi-final against Manchester United.
- May: SC coaches complete successful season, running to 24 of 25 matches.
- Jun: SC launches new website, bhasc.com.
- Sep: SC purchases AED (automatic external defibrillator) for coach trips and other events.
2022
- May: coach service celebrates 25th season with a sponsored trip to Leeds.
- May: SC chairman Nigel Summers is elected to the first BHA Fan Advisory Board.
- Jul: SC affiliates to BHA official supporters' clubs scheme after receiving comfort on contentious matters.
2021
- Aug: SC re-starts as fans are admitted to matches en masse once more. Away coach service resumes, running to 17 of 23 matches.
2020
- Mar: Covid-19 pandemic strikes. Football halts. SC closes down apart from an initial daily quiz for members.
- Jun: football resumes behind closed doors.
- Sep: 2020/21 season starts behind closed doors. Just three home league matches all season admit small crowds.
- Oct: @BHASC1 opens as a SC Twitter account.
2010s
2018
- Oct: SC gives a memento to long-serving BHA secretary Derek Allan to mark his retirement.
2015
- Mar: SC gives £100 to help establish Hereford FC following the demise of Hereford United.
- Apr: the late Sarah Watts is posthumously named Supporter of the Year at the Football League Awards. She is also named Fan of the Season by BHA which also launches a new "inspiration award" in her name.
- Aug: SC members enjoy a tour of BHA's Lancing training centre before staging their AGM there.
- Nov: SC members meet and ask questions of BHA chairman Tony Bloom.
2014
- Nov: SC Merit Award is named "The Sarah Watts Trophy" in honour of our long-serving secretary who has just weeks to live. Sarah passes away in Jan 2015 aged 49.
- Nov: SC trip to see England v Slovenia at new Wembley Stadium. With tickets provided free by the FA, coach passengers make donations to assist with cancer care in Brighton.
2013
- Feb: SC members meet and quiz new BHA chief executive Paul Barber.
- Apr: SC publishes a report into homophobic chanting at BHA matches during 2012/13, compiled by Sarah Watts. The document is highlighted by the media and leads to a change in perception of this form of abuse, doing much to help eradicate the problem.
2012
- Mar: SC celebrates its centenary with a quiz night in Dick's Bar. Proceeds are given to a local community project in Moulsecoomb.
- Apr: SC centenary celebrations continue with a night at the greyhound stadium.
- Sep: SC underwrites the cost of benches in the Rest Garden at the Amex Stadium.
- Nov: SC helps pay for a war memorial at the Amex Stadium.
2011
- Mar: SC receives remaining funds as The Segulls Party is wound up. It subsequently makes donations to the Robert Eaton Memorial Fund and to the Plymouth Argyle Fans' Trust.
- Apr: SC purchases two season-tickets at the Amex Stadium for the use of members. The scheme lasts for two seasons.
- May: SC presents a dossier of problems with persistent standing at away games to BHA.
- Jul: as the Amex Stadium officially opens, a Goldstone Ground heritage board is unveiled in Hove Park, the cost being underwritten by the SC.
- Sep: SC launches a page on Facebook ("BHASC").
2010
- Dec: SC begins compiling a dossier of problem standing at away matches, denying those that want to sit a view.
2000s
2009
- Mar: SC represents Albion fans on the Community Stadium residents liaison group.
- Nov: SC presents former chairman Dick Knight with wine decanter engraved "Saviour, Brighton & Hove Albion, Our thanks".
2008
- Oct: SC hands out pre-printed letters to fans at Withdean for them to support BHA's essential application to update the new stadium plans.
- Dec: work on the new stadium at Falmer begins. SC members of the Falmer For All team are invited to the ceremony.
2007
- Feb: SC members help to hand out 20,000 postcards at Withdean as part of the new stadium campaign. By funding the printing, the SC brings its contributions to more than £9,000.
- Sep: fifteen core members of the Falmer For All team, most of them SC members, receive Certificates of Thanks from BHA for their help in obtaining planning permission.
2006
- Aug: members vote to oppose homophobic chanting, backing a campaign led by Sarah Watts and Liz Costa. The FA prohibits homophobic chants from 2007 onwards.
- Sep: SC members demonstrate against Lewes District Council outside the Liberal Democrat conference in Brighton.
2005
- Jan: SC stages a video race night, raising £2,000 for BHA's Alive & Kicking appeal and £700 for the new stadium campaign.
- Jul: SC takes a coach for a three-day trip to BHA's friendly in Le Havre, France.
- Aug: the issue of homophobic chanting is raised at SC AGM.
- Aug: SC part-sponsors two programme huts at Withdean – North and South – and takes space within them as a campaign hubs. (SC had previously been using open tables.)
- Nov: SC is represented at FA's homophobia summit at Coventry.
2004
- Feb: the new stadium campaign ramps up after an adverse planning report. Such is the workload that no March, April or June newsletters are compiled. SC provides even more funding, manpower and logistics to the campaign over the next three years; and uses its own ClubsInCrisis.com to highlight the issues.
- May: SC runs six coaches to the play-off final in Cardiff.
- Jun: SC receives the Football Supporters' Federation "Services to Supporters" award for helping fans of other clubs while also playing a leading role in the new stadium campaign.
- Oct: SC chairman Tim Carder makes case for conversion of SC into a supporters' trust to acquire stake in BHA.
- Nov: SC chairman raises £274 by improving his time in Brighton 10k race, one of many contributions to BHA's Alive & Kicking appeal.
2003
- Jan: SC secures £5 vouchers for BHA fans at Norwich City, at the re-staging of an FA Cup tie following a postponement because of equipment failure.
- Aug: SC secures BHA commitment to supply match tickets (for all-ticket games) to regular passengers run by approved operators to promote "greener" travel.
2002
- Mar: SC bucket collection raises £3,780 for Bury's "Buy-a-Seat" appeal to keep the day's visitors alive.
- Aug: SC members vote to boycott BHA's game at Wimbledon in protest at FA decision to allow that club to move to Milton Keynes.
- Aug: SC gives its first Merit Award to BHA ticket office staff.
2001
- Jan: SC launches ClubsInCrisis.com to assist all clubs in trouble.
- Mar: SC collection raises more than £1,500 for the Tigers Co-operative trying to rescue the day's visitors, Hull City.
- May: SC members decorate the open-top bus as BHA celebrate a first league title in 36 years. The same happens in 2002, 2004 and 2011.
- Nov: the Falmer For All campaign to secure a new stadium is launched at Hove Town Hall. SC makes a £2,000 contribution to the campaign. Over the coming years it provides manpower, logistics and more funding, as well as letting fans know when and how to support the planning process.
2000
- Mar: SC gives £1,000 to the new stadium campaign at fans' forum.
- Apr: SC issues its first monthly Newsletter, a change from a quarterly publication.
- Aug: SC issues a free diary to all members. The gesture continues until 2004.
- Nov: SC persuades BHA to water down a proposed, draconian, away membership scheme; and does so again when a still-faulty version is launched.
1990s
1999
- Jan: SC starts off the Year for Youth by purchasing sweat-tops for BHA Centre of Excellence boys.
- Mar: SC presents £1,000 to new stadium campaign, and provides manpower and logistics to help secure a Yes-Yes referendum vote in May.
- Mar: SC joins other supporters' groups to reject approach of health-farm magnate Stephen Purdew to take over BHA.
- Apr: SC takes minibus to Hillsborough Disaster tenth anniversary commemoration.
- Jul: as Withdean Stadium becomes BHA's temporary home, SC takes charge of organising supporters' litter patrols, a commitment that helped to gain permission for use of the venue.
- Jul: SC introduces motions to be voted upon at AGM, to encourage members to influence policy democratically. One of the approved resolutions is for ownership of BHA to be extended to "ordinary" fans.
- Aug: SC is represented on the Withdean residents liaison committee.
- Aug: SC purchases two season-tickets for members' use, retaining them until 2006.
- Sep: SC raises £307 for homeless charity Shelter with a bucket collection at Withdean.
1998
- Jul: SC cricket match at County Ground for Buy-a-Player and testimonial funds is rained off.
- Aug: SC asks for, and is granted, a ten per cent discount for its members in the BHA shop.
- Oct: SC hands out leaflets at Gillingham urging fans to pressurise Brighton & Hove Council to accommodate a new stadium.
1997
- Feb: SC is main organiser of events at Fans United, using rugby clubhouse in Hove Park as base.
- Mar: four SC members symbolically walk 68 miles away from Gillingham to the Goldstone, also raising money for the youth development fund and the children's hospital.
- Apr: a one-off SC match programme is sold at the last Goldstone Ground game, against Doncaster Rovers.
- Jul: SC adopts new constitution emphasising its independence from BHA.
- Aug: SC runs coaches to home matches at Gillingham, the only transport from Brighton & Hove for the first three months of BHA's tenure. The service lasts for the full two seasons at the Priestfield Stadium.
- Sep: Dick Knight becomes chairman of BHA as a new board of directors is finally installed.
- Nov: SC is included in regular monthly meetings between the new BHA board and fans' representatives.
- Nov: Buy-a-Player fund is launched by SC. Monies raised are used to help secure winger Rod Thomas in October 1998.
- Dec: SC plays major part in launching and running the Bring Home the Albion campaign, for a temporary home at Withdean Stadium.
1996
- Feb: Albion Almanac, a retrospective monthly diary of BHA events, is launched by SC to replace Cutting Remarks. It runs for 257 editions until June 2017.
- Feb: SC attends launch of "Let's Kick Racism Out of Football" at Brighton Town Hall.
- Mar: SC members hand out leaflets from Hove Council stating the case for staying at Goldstone rather than share at Portsmouth.
- May: SC members hand sticks of rock to York City fans as a peace gesture, as the abandoned game is replayed on a Thursday morning.
- Aug: SC emphasises its independence from BHA. AGM rejects proposal to abandon matches peacefully. Membership now £4.50.
- Oct: SC asks Football League to postpone home match v Lincoln City when Bill Archer inflames the BHA crisis. In the event the game is halted for 13 minutes by a pitch invasion.
- Oct: SC and BISA advocate an indefinite boycott of home matches until BHA board changes. In the end one match (v Mansfield Town in Nov) is boycotted.
- Nov: Liz Costa organises the first SC away coach, to Sudbury Town in the FA Cup, after BHA stops running coaches. She goes on to run the service until 2020.
1995
- Jul: the sale of the Goldstone Ground is exposed. The SC joins with other fans' groups in a bitter, two-year struggle to wrest control from the BHA board of directors.
- Aug: SC chairman issues a statement supportive of the board – he is voted out at next AGM.
- Even while protesting, the SC continues to stage barn-dances, raise funds for a youth development fund, and paying youth team's minibus insurance premium.
1993
- Mar: SC arranges a raffle on behalf of BHA for the local children's hospital Rockinghorse Appeal.
- Apr: SC provides practical help manning phones at Des Lynam's Save Our Seagulls event.
- Oct: SC members help BHA by selling programmes within ground.
1992
- Mar: SC raises £2,600 to help send British paralympic athletes to Barcelona.
- Dec: STAN – Save the Albion Now – is launched by SC as a joint campaign with BISA (Brighton Independent Supporters' Association) to pressurise Hove Council into granting planning permission for retail warehouses on Goldstone Ground. Supporters understand that no development will proceed until a suitable new ground is available.
1991
- Aug: SC buys laser therapy machine for BHA for £2,500. (PIC)
1990
- Apr: four SC members appointed stewards to England supporters (coaches and liaison) at Italia '90 World Cup.
- May: beachwear theme on final away trip (Blackburn Rovers) establishes tradition.
- Sep: SC has use of Segas Social Club in Church Road on Thursday evenings.
1980s
1989
- Apr: SC co-ordinates collection for Hillsborough Disaster fund at Goldstone, raising £5,665.
- Jul: SC launches Cutting Remarks, a monthly compilation of press cuttings on BHA for remote supporters. It lasts until January 1996.
- Aug: SC uses caravan opposite West Stand as new matchday base.
- Aug: SC to contribute £2,500 for new defibrillator at Goldstone.
- Oct: SC sells "End to End", a fanzine from the National Federation.
- Dec: SC helps with BHA purchase of a Dynaflux electrotherapy unit.
1988
- Aug: SC uses portacabin in Newtown Road as matchday base.
- Sep: SC joins National Federation's campaign against Government plans for a total football membership scheme.
- Oct: SC presents cheque for nearly £2,500 to BHA for megapulse therapy unit.
1987
- Jul: Walk for Life sponsored walk – SC plays part in national campaign to improve football's image, show unity amongst rival supporters, and raise funds for cancer charities. Many walk from Woodside Road in Worthing to Goldstone, raising almost £2,000.
- Aug: membership fee £2.50 adults, £1.50 intermediates.
1986
- Sep: first quarterly newsletter for members issued.
- Nov: roof for supporters in wheelchairs is inaugurated in SW corner, SC contributing more than £1,200.
1985
- Aug: Junior Seagulls club formed by BHA for U14s, with co-operation from SC. Those aged 14–16 become SC intermediate members.
- Aug: SC collects £419 at Goldstone for Bradford City fire appeal.
- Sep: SC members have ten per cent discount at BHA shop. SC urges its members to become BHA lottery agents.
1984
- Feb: Goldstone ball boys – not girls – to be selected from junior SC members.
- Apr: junior SC members take part in National Federation five-a-side tournament.
1983
- Sep: SC holds its first programme fair.
- Nov: junior SC members (U16) admitted to SE Terrace for £1 (including programme) and receive a free team poster.
1982
- Mar: at Brighton Centre fans' forum, BHA chairman Mike Bamber is sympathetic to a new SC.
- Sep: current SC formed (17 Sep) at Sussex Sunday League HQ in Queen Square, as an independent but supportive club. Membership £1 adults, 70p U16s. Over the next 13 years the main activities include:
- promoting good behaviour
- social events and other functions – discos, end-of-season parties, quiz nights, programme fairs, etc, often with players present. SC is given occasional use of BHA gym (the former St Agnes’ Church).
- men’s football team in Sussex Sunday League
- junior members' five-a-side football
- raising money to purchase equipment for BHA and testimonial funds
- match ball sponsorships
- supplying stewards for BHA coaches to away games
- insuring members while watching or travelling to football
- day trips for members to places of interest
- liaising with other SCs via National Federation
- meeting BHA and police to understand each other's problems.
1970s
1977
- SC disbands as BHA takes over many of its traditional roles of fund-raising and travel (although the Horsham branch opts to continue independently). It has given around £100,000 to BHA since 1948. The 400 shares it owns in BHA are acquired by the directors.
1976
- SC's Albion Ladies team reaches the semi-final of the Mitre Cup, the Women's Football Assocation's national competition. However, the team disbands thereafter.
1974
- SC gives up its office in St George's Place and moves to the Goldstone Ground, to save money.
1970
- SC forms an Albion Ladies football club, playing friendly games and, from 1971, in the Sussex Martlet League.
1960s
1967
- Nov: SC issues a new magazine, "The Goldstone Roar", for members. Five issues are published in 1967/68 and 1968/69.
1950s
1958
- SC opens an office at 8 St George's Place.
1957
- SC lobbies BHA to introduce concessionary admission for old-age pensioners.
1956
- Feb: an "up-county" branch of the SC is formed in Partridge Green that later becomes the Horsham branch.
1954
- Feb: Mavis Maitland becomes SC's "Brighton & Hove Football Queen" – the first "Miss Albion" – and goes on to win the national title in April. Miss Albion was a regular SC event from 1960 until 1975.
1940s
1949
- May: SC stages its first (of two) "Albion Week", a five-day programme of athletic and other events each evening at the Goldstone Ground to raise funds and to allow players and supporters to mix.
1948
- Mar: SC is re-established, largely through the efforts of Harry Coverdale. More than 1,000 supporters quickly hand over the one-shilling (5p) fee, and membership reaches more than 2,700 by June. Activities include:
- away match trips
- social events
- liaison with BHA management on matters of mutual interest
- distribution of a share of BHA's allocation of FA Cup final tickets.
1930s
1939
- SC disbands with the outbreak of war in Europe.
1936
- Apr: SC launches a 25,000 shilling fund (£1,250) under the slogan "Help the Albion to get promotion", the money going to augment the playing staff for the 1936/37 season.
1935
- SC pays off final instalment for cost of first North Stand, £1,320 in total.
1931
- Jun: SC stages a "monster fête" on the Goldstone Ground, the proceeds going to the fund to pay for a new roof over the North Terrace.
1920s
1928
- BHA chairman Charles Brown is elected to the SC committee.
1927
- BHA provides a hut for SC at the Goldstone Ground.
- SC is a founder member of the National Federation of Football Supporters' Clubs.
1925
- SC publishes its first handbook, with more than £47 from its sale being handed to BHA. Many more annual handbooks were issued until 1976.
1923
- SC moves its HQ to the Ship Hotel, Hove Street, to be nearer to the Goldstone Ground.
1922
- Jul: SC is re-established with a preliminary meeting at the Oddfellows Hall, Queen's Road, on 21 Jul. HQ is the Belvedere Mansions Hotel, King's Road. Activities over the following years include:
- fund-raising
- social events - whist drives, dances, etc
- trips to away matches
- collections for testimonials and charity
- socialising with other supporters' clubs
- campaigning against the barracking of officials and players.
1910s
1919
- Sep: BHA plays its first league match for more than four years.
1915
- May: BHA plays its last game for four years, shutting down for the remainder of the First World War.
1913
Sep: SC decides to continue despite poor membership figures.
1912
- Mar: "Brighton and Hove Albion Football Supporters Club" is established. The idea of Harry Edwards, it was:
- promoted on 02 Mar at the Goldstone Ground with the help of the visiting Watford SC chairman
- formed on 20 Mar at the King & Queen, Marlborough Place
- launched on 27 Mar at the same venue.
- Initial aims included:
- obtaining season-tickets via weekly payments
- obtaining reduced rail fares for away matches
- arranging lectures to acquaint members with the technical points of the game
- encouraging members to become BHA shareholders
- using members' subscriptions to assist with the provision of summer wages for the players.
- While Edwards was installed as honorary secretary, the first chairman was Frank Sharpe.
- Aug: BHA players take on the SC at cricket.
1900s

- 24 Jun: BHA is formed at the Seven Stars, Ship Street.
