AGM 2024

Held at The Swan, Falmer, on Thursday, 19 September, the meeting was attended by around 35 members who heard from Paul Barber OBE.

Following questions to the Albion deputy chairman and chief executive, the meeting moved on to Supporters’ Club business and made some significant decisions.

The membership backed a motion condemning any suggestion of moving a competitive match away from Brighton. This comes in the wake of media rumours about Premier League games being played abroad.

Members approved a new post of Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Officer and backed a new policy on “EDI” for the Supporters’ Club. Tony Foster was elected as the first incumbent of the new position

When the Committee next meets – scheduled for Wednesday 09 October – there will be three new volunteers present: Graham Griffin, Philippa Hudson and, as our new Vice-Chair, Paul Samrah. We wish Paul a safe journey to and from Ukraine. He is delivering an ambulance to the city of Lviv, and you can read about his adventure and help to sponsor the journey here.

Finally, our prestigious Merit Award, the Sarah Watts Trophy, was given to Nigel Summers following a members’ poll. Nigel secured 66 percent of the votes for his work in revitalising the Supporters’ Club, particularly in the areas of social evenings/meetings, and the Newsletter.

All the changes have now been implemented on this website.
